Five Kingdoms: The Rogue Knight

Last year, Brandon Mull released the first book in his new series, The Five Kingdoms. It was entitled Sky Raiders and quickly rose to be a New York Times Bestseller.

This month, November 18 to be exact, the second book in the series, The Rogue Knight, releases. Here is the amazon summary of the book:

Cole Randolph never meant to come to The Outskirts, but when his friends were kidnapped on Halloween he had to try and save them. Now he’s trapped in a world that lies between wakefulness and dreaming, reality and imagination, life and death.

Cole’s hunt for his lost friends has led him to the kingdom of Elloweer. Accompanied by new friends Mira, Twitch, and Jace, Cole teams up with the resistance movement and joins the search for Mira’s sister Honor.

But Elloweer has grown unstable. A mysterious enemy is wiping out towns, leaving no witnesses or survivors. And an infamous rebel known throughout the kingdom as the “Rogue Knight” is upsetting the balance of power.

With enemies in pursuit, Cole and Mira must resort to a fascinating new kind of magic to protect themselves. Every move is filled with danger as Cole and his friends try to outwit the High King, who will stop at nothing to regain what he has lost.
I found the first book to be a promising start to a new series and am excited to see where Brandon Mull takes next in the Five Kingdoms.

Also, for those of you who don’t know yet, Brandon Mull is releasing a second Fablehaven Series, Dragonwatch, which is set to be released in two years. According to his twitter account, the new series will still follow Kendra, Seth, and the Knights of the Dawn, but there will be new antagonists. Rumor has it that the series will also focus on the Dragon Sanctuaries (which is probably true considering the title of the series).

Tour dates for The Rogue Knight have been announced and can be located on Mull’s site:
